San Francisco & LA: - The best of two great cities!

NOTE:  Each California tour goes in a different direction - please verify where your tour starts before purchasing a ticket.   Information is at the bottom of this page and on the confirmation email you receive after signing up.

We will ride the boat from Fisherman's Wharf around Alcatraz National Park, site of the infamous Alcatraz Prison, where Al Capone spent his last days. The boat ride is also a great spot to see your fist glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge as tech boat takes you underneath, as well as the San Francisco skyline. At Pier 39, we will explore the tourist sights and watch the street performers before continuing on with a city tour through Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, and Golden Gate Bridge. Walk Lombard Street, the world's most crooked street. Ride San Francisco's famous cable cars, and spend an evening having a group meal in Chinatown and wander through North Beach - stopping for a gelato or cannoli along the way.


We spend an afternoon with the sights and sounds of UC Berkeley, one of America's most prestigious universities. We will have lunch while shopping on neighboring Telegraph avenue. Walk Lombard Street, the world's most crooked street. Ride San Francisco's famous cable cars, and spend an evening having a group meal in Chinatown and wander through North Beach - stopping for a gelato or cannoli along the way.

We will depart San Francisco early and journey through the Central Valley toward Los Angeles watching movies the whole way.

There is so much to see in Los Angeles and our tour will take us to some of the most famous sights. We will visit Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica and Venice Beach, Hollywood Boulevard and Melrose Avenue (the best place in Los Angeles for fun fashions).

Spend the day at Universal Studios. The full day and evening will be spent riding the wild attractions and exploring the most famous theme park in the world. The place is huge so remember to wear comfortable shoes!

Then our Final meal together at Hard Rock Cafe.

FLIGHT INFORMATION   for California tour #1 only

     This tour begins in San Francisco (SFO) on Saturday.  We will meet students landing between 12pm and 5 pm. Those arriving earlier will have to wait- we prefer that you arrive within the time window though. If your planned flight lands after 5 PM, you will miss the beginning of the tour and dinner.

The tour ends in Los Angeles (LAX) on Friday.  Departures should be between 9 am-2pm.   If you depart earlier we will get you to the airport, but will not be able to assist you with check in.  Note that because you go to the airport 2 hours before departure earlier departures may miss breakfast.   If you depart later than 2 PM you risk getting stuck in Los Angeles on your own;  There will not be any chaperones left to assist you.

   

It is generally cheaper to buy 1 "multi city" round trip ticket than 2 one way tickets.  Kayak, Orbitz, expedia, travelocity, your local travel agency or we can can all arrange tickets to do this. Airfare is generally cheaper when purchased ahead of time.  Airline tickets are non-refundable, and should only be purchased after all permissions for travel have been obtained.
